About Us

This property has a history of well over 100 years, (including a visit from Teddy Roosevelt) having served several purposes over that time. Originally this camp was named Youth With A Mission religious camp. The property has changed ownership several times, and most recently in December of 2013, William Garlutzo of Denver, Colorado purchased the property.

From the start, Mr. Garlutzo (Bill) had a vision of changing this sizeable resort into an upper scale Colorado mountain cabin experience. Bill is originally from the Trinidad area, and so he is native to Stonewall and the surrounding mountains. Bill originally saw the property for sale in 2013 and immediately he envisioned his new resort. “I saw the potential for something special here, and having spent my youth in the area, I knew it would be perfect for vacationers, fishermen, hunters and those who enjoy Colorado’s beautiful mountains,” said Bill.

After the purchase of the resort, there was much work that needed to take place in order to prepare the cabins for guests. As with any older property, there was a lot to be done, and that was a huge undertaking, which Bill truly enjoyed.  “Yes there was a tremendous amount of repair and updating, but as it came together, the place really began to transform into something beautiful,” remembers Bill.  It wasn’t long before the entire process became a labor of love.

With eight Colorado mountain cabins to choose from, parties of any size and makeup fit in perfectly at Middle fork Resort.  “We’ll host weddings, family reunions, corporate retreats and even concerts here.  We have cabins with up to 7 bedrooms and 5 baths, to our smallest which is perfect for couples or small families,” said Bill.
